Let's talk skin...

What facial should I schedule?

Our facials are scheduled by time, and the average time you need for a facial might vary by skin type and current skin concerns. Don't worry, we are here to figure that all out. For new clients we schedule plenty of time for us to sit down with you, talk about your skin's needs and concerns, and complete one of our most popular treatments, the Essential facial (60 min) or the Depth facial (75 min). Unless a client has a request for a specific time allotment, we will perform the most effective facial for your skin and make recommendations for continued treatments. The minimum time for a first time client facial is 60 minutes to allow for the best possible results.

Do I need to take my makeup off before my facial?

Nope. We have lots of cleansers to help with that, and will cleanse your skin properly and thoroughly before any skincare treatment.

How often do I need to come in for facials?

This varies for every client, as everyone's skin and skincare need is unique! We will make our best recommendations for you after your first treatment. Most of our clients are on a routine and we see them between 4-10 weeks.

I'm scared. Is my face going to break out and get all crazy red after?

Don't be scared. It is possible that you might experience some mild breakout after a facial treatment, especially in the beginning, but it is mild and the facial glow you are left with will more than make up for it. Most people think their skin looks its best in the days after their skincare treatment.

Waxy Waxy Waxy...

What's a brazilian?

Definitions vary... but here at Spruce it refers to removing all of the hair in the pubic region, including everything off of the labia and bum crack. You can leave as much as you want on top (a strip, a triangle, or a nice square patch for example).

But I think I want a little more or a little less or a little different than that...

Yes, no prob. We have a whole pot of wax, and we can do as little or as much as you want and modify any brazilian or bikini wax to make you a happy camper.

How long does the hair need to be?

About a quarter of an inch. If you are a current shaver, this is about 2 weeks of growth. The longer you can go, however, the better your first wax will be. If the hair isn't long enough, there isn't enough for the wax to grab and you can end up with a quicker re-growth.

How often do I get waxed?

About every 4 weeks. Less or more depending on the hair and the person, but as a general rule this is where we start.

What kind of wax do you use?

We have three different waxes, including hard and soft wax, that we use depending on the skin type and body area being waxed to give you the best results with the least irritation possible.

Does it hurt?

Well, it doesn't feel like hugs and kisses, but it is over quickly and the results are awesome. 95% of clients hop up and say something along the lines of, "well, that wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be." You'll be fine. It's over quickly and you only need to do it once a month, so it's easy and low maintenance.

I'm scared.

Don't be! It's awesome, fun, and we keep you talking to pass the time quickly. We do this all day long, and we love to do it! There is nothing to be nervous, embarrassed, or anxious about. You've found a good place to go, and we will convert you to the waxing lifestyle.

I'm scared I will break out or get ingrowns. Will this happen with waxing?

Maybe. It is generally easier on your skin than shaving, but you may still experience some irritation or ingrowns afterwards. We help you minimize this with proper aftercare instructions and proper tools to help at home, such as good scrubbie gloves by Supracor (mechanical exfoliation) and the amazing Serious Serum (chemical exfoliation).

How can I pay?

We accept cash, check and cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Amex).

What if I need to cancel?

Be nice, give us as much notice as possible. We want to be able to take care of you when it works for you. Otherwise we are just gals with hot pots of wax and a comfy treatment table.

We kindly ask that you give us 24 hours notice for any change or cancellation of your appointment. If you late cancel or no-show your appointment, a credit card may be required to hold your spot. If it happens again, a charge of 50% of the scheduled appointment will be charged.

When do you work? Can I just stop in? How far in advance do I need to book my appointment?

We work completely by appointment, so please book online or call/text/email us to set up an appointment. Although popular time slots may book up in advance, it never hurts to check and ask what we have available, as schedules often change.
